Aggressive Skating Buying Guide
Aggressive Skating, a.k.a. Freestyle Rolling, changes the focus of inline skates /rollerblades and skateboards, or any variety within those categories, away from the obvious benefits of fitness training, transportation, and safety, and towards stunts, tricks, grinds and pain. Aggressive skaters attempt to skate on or around unconventional objects in a normal civilian environment. Common objects/environments include stairwells, fountains, parks, roadblocks, subways, lion cages and suburban malls. The aggressive stance towards skating can be attributed to lack of discipline, evolution. It became a popular hobby in the 1990s, and was exacerbated by the belief held by many-an-authority-figure that "Skating Is A Crime. "
When joining the ranks of other extreme skaters, you will have to dress the part of the amateur. Wrist guards, elbow pads, knee pads and a helmet are all necessary safety features for every skater. Without them, you could be in the hospital well before you've learned your first trick. Aggressive skating is meant for advanced skaters, so if you are just starting out, you need to know the basics first. This will require you to buy beginner skates, which are faster and safer than aggressive skates. Once you have worked your way through intermediate techniques, before moving on to aggressive. However, once you are serious about trying aggressive skating, buy a pair of skates created specifically for aggressive skating. The brands Rollerblade, Deshi, Razer, K2, NIMH, and ROCES all make exceptional skates for this purpose.
Aggressive Skaters must understand the differences between Inline Skate Boots. Like a snowboard boot, the aggressive skate boot consists of a hard outer shell and a soft interior lining. You can then purchase the wheels separately to attach to the boot. There are three types of boots: - Hard Boots
- Plastic shell over a removable interior lining.
- Soft Boots
- More malleable exterior and permanent lining.
- Skeletal Skates
- Form-fitted sneakers, called footwraps, inside the shell. Have flexibility of soft boots, but the strength of hard boots.
