Contents[Hide]

We all have the same problems-frizz, flyaways, dullness, but don't worry. This guide is designed to show you all the products out there specifically designed to combat the common hair care problems.

Fight Frizz

Cleanse

One way to battle frizz is to hydrate your hair starting with your shampoo step. Any sort of Moisturizing  or replenishing shampoo should do the trick. Go for creamier textures. Clear shampoos should be avoided.

Condition

Continue with a moisturizing conditioner that contains silicone ploymer or some natural oils. You want to make sure that every strand is coated.

Prep

When you get out fo the shower, try you best to keep your hands away from your hair. Use a detangler  and a wide tooth comb  to get rid of knots. Avoid using your fingers or a brush Coat your hair with a silicone based serum for curly hair or a smoothing milk  for straight hair.Redken Glass 01 Smoothing Serum

Style

Try to avoid most styling appliances like  hair dryers  and
straightening irons But, if you must heat style, go for an ionic hair dryer with a diffuser  or a ceramic flat iron When drying, don't brush hair through since this will  cause moisture loss. When you straighten, make sure the hair is dry and use a low heat setting to avoid frizzing.

Finish

After you've finished styling, apply a finisher if needed. The best products for fighting frizz are those with fatty acids, silicone, and natural oils.

Get Rid of Dandruff

Cleanse

A medicated shampoo will help fight flakes from dandruff. Use one everyday, but try to apply mostly to the scalp (these products tend to dry out hair).

Condition

Look for conditioners that are suited to your specific hair type, whether it be dry or oily.

Secrets of Shiny Hair

Cleanse

Look for color-safe shampoos that won't wash out or fade your color.

Condition

A color-safe conditioner applied immediately after shampoo will help lock in your color.

Prep and Primp

To make your hair color really pop, use a reflective shine booster with some silicone after cleansing.

Finish

Be sure to take advantage of the hair glazes  that have recently become so popular. They will give your color that extra something until you can make it to the salon again. Try products from:

Leave-in conditioning treatments and other weekly use products are best for improving damaged locks.

Style

If you've got damged hair, try to avoid heat styling that will lead to more damage and despair, such as  hair dryers  or straightening irons If you need to style with them, then opt for an ionic hair dryer with a diffuser  or a  ceramic flat iron Try to not brush your hair while blowdrying and use the lowest heat setting that you can. ceramic flat iron

Pump Up the Volume

Cleanse

Use a Volumizing shampoo
or a shampoo for fine hair  on a daily basis. You should strive to use a clarifying shampoo  once a week to get rid or gunk and build up for ultimate volumizing results.

Condition

Look for a lightweight conditioner that won't weigh your hair down. Avoid using conditioner on the scalp-just go for the ends.

Prep

A root lifter is key for a volumized look. It gives limp hair hte strength it needs to balance the rest of the weight. You can also try a light mousse with added hold for a more structured and volume-filled look.

Style

Blow dry your hair upside down and avoid using brushes  orcombs  near the roots. A round brush  is a great tool for smoothing and shaping your ends. As the hair dries, you can gradually add mroe root amplifier for some more va-va-voom looking volume.

Finish

For the most volume infused hair, try to avoid letting your hair growout too long. The less hair you have, the more volume you will get and the livelier and healthier it will look. Layers and fringed ends will also add volume as opposed to a stright blunt cut.
