Makeup Removers
No matter how beautiful your makeup looked all day, before you go to bed, you should definitely take it off. Not only will your eye-liner get all over your pillows, but your makeup will actually hurt your skin if left on overnight. A day's makeup combined with bacteria can clog pores, bring new blemishes out, and can even cause eye problems or infections. Not to mention, waking up with mascara strewn across your face is really not that cute. So when your favorite facial cleanser can't get it all, use a makeup remover to get rid of those mascara and lipstick remnants.
Makeup removers are also helpful when you're putting your makeup on. If you're in a rush and you smudge your liquid liner, it seems like nothing could be worse. If you have some makeup remover and a few Q-tips on hand, you'll be able to take care of that smudge with no problem, without having to start all over.
How To Choose
Choosing a makeup remover is pretty easy when compared to all of the other beauty products out there. You don't have to spend a lot, either. The drug-store brands will do the same as any more expensive one. Just make sure to look for ones that are not too harsh if you have sensitive skin. Also, be sure that the formula is non-comodgenic, meaning that it won't clog pores.
If waterproof makeup is your best friend, then choose a remover specially designed for removing the waterproof kind. If you stick to water based makeup, then a gentle makeup remover free of mineral oils will be more than enough.

High End
These products are more expensive at about $15 or more per bottle, but their formulas balance skin better and keep the skin hydrated.
The Classics
The two most basic types of makeup remover are Vaseline (petroleum jelly ) and cold cream. Both of these items are great at removing eye makeup and lipstick, but are not recommended for use on the rest of the face since they can clog pores. Other options are fragrance-free baby wipes or plain mineral oil and a cotton pad.
For Sensitive Skin
If your skin is the sensitive type, avoid using products with AHAs since they can irritate the eyes. You might also want to avoid using waterproof mascara and other eye makeup so it will be easier to remove. That way, you can use a mild makeup remover and avoid any skin irritation. Rinse with warm water after using and pat, not rub, dry.
One highly recommended makeup remover is Almay Non-Oily Makeup Removal Pads. These are great since no cotton balls or pads are needed. One or two swipes of a single one will remove all your day's makeup easily and quickly. You might also want to check out:
