Nintendo 64  was one of the greatest systems of its time. Mario and Link ruled the character world and side scrolling games were the normal set-up. Feeling nostalgic? We don't blame you. The games on Nintendo 64 were nothing short of legendary. We've compiled some of the most popular games for the system. Break out the old N64 and give them a go!

The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time 

This game has been named the best video game of all time. It's virtually flawless and one of the best adventure games out there.

Super Mario 64 

Realms are vast and detailed, while the graphics are surprisingly crisp for the time. There's a fairly easy learning curve, making it a favourite party game.

Perfect Dark 

This is definitely one of the best games on this console. This first person shooter can be played in single player mode or multi-player mode.

GoldenEye 007 

When this game came out, people were raving about its graphics. Obviously it won't look nearly as good as any of your Wii, XBox 360, or Playstation 3 games, but they are still impressive. This first person shooter delivers hours of fun and amusing frustration.

ExciteBike 64 

The name says it all, folks. This game is extreme biking made terribly fun. This game is very arcade-like (in a 90s way rather than an 80s way), but it's deep and varied at the same time. Though the graphics were not too sharp even when it was first released, the game is definitely fun.

Star Wars: Rogue Squadron 

This game is based on the first level of Shadows of the Empire. Fly crafts and lead a Rogue Squadron against the Empire while playing as Luke Skywalker.

Banjo-Kazooie 

This game followed in the footsteps of Super Mario 64 but added some of its own features. Banjo and his bird have way more moves than Mario, and the graphics have more texture. This game is also way bigger than Mario 64, so expect larger levels.

The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask 

The graphics on this game were considered amazing at the time. Though hardly viewed with as much admiration as Ocarina of Time, this game is still a N64 classic.

Pokemon Stadium 

Gotta catch them all! Though this isn't the most impressive N64 game by far, it's still fun and great for kids. This RPG runs on the generic side, but it'll still provide hours of fun if you enjoy easy RPGs or the Pokemon series.

Mario Kart 64 

This game has to be on the list. Mario, Princess Peach, Luigi, and the rest of the mushroom gang race against each other, using power ups to get ahead or cause others to fall behind. This was possibly the best party game on the system, as it allowed up to four players and had a fairly easy learning curve.
