Wii Games Buying Guide

Nintendo Wii is a fairly new console, but there are already plenty of exciting and cool games available for the system.  Though many games are remakes of Nintendo classics, there are a few games surfacing that are entirely unique. However, there is not much wrong with having the majority of the interesting games be remakes. After all, Nintendo classics  were nothing short of amazing fun and great social opportunities. We've selected a few of the most popular and best-selling Nintendo games currently out there. Happy gaming-- but first, is your wrist-strap on tight? 

The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess 

Link takes his older, more mature form that was last seen in the old N64 Zelda games. You'll spend hours loving to play as Link as you try to save a fantasy world from a mysterious twilight realm.

Mario Kart Wii 

For fans of Mario Kart 64 and other Mario Kart games, this game is a must-have. The game features several new tracks, classic favourites, and new vehicle choices. You can also play others from across the globe online! Comes with one Wii Wheel for added fun.

Super Paper Mario 

Though you may think this is just another remake, Super Paper Mario takes Paper Mario out of 2-D and into a creative, fun, dimension-shifting platformer possible only on Wii.  This hilarious game is the perfect bridge between old school Nintendo and Wii.

 


Super Mario Galaxy 

This has to be one of the most innovative games on the system. Ever want to explore a fantasy universe where everything has its own center of gravity and battle bosses and other enemies? Super Mario Galaxy is one of the best-selling and highest-rated games on the Wii so far. 

Okami 

This game re-designed the controls in order to make the most use of the Wii remote, and it resulted in one of the most innovative and beautiful adventure games out there.

No More Heros 

No More Heroes chronicles Travis Touchdown's rise to the top of the assassin's league. If you want a mature action title for the Wii, this is your game. This game will keep you engaged for hours, whether you are playing or watching.

Harvest Moon: Tree of Tranquility 

This game is great for kids and adults alike. Save an island that has become disconnected from nature by tending to and befriending animals and nurturing and building a family. 

Metal Slug Anthology 

The Metal Slug games were addictive side-scrolling shooters in the vein of "Contra." Several games in the series are jammed onto one disc here, and enhanced with motion sensor control.


Call of Duty 3 

In this first-person shooter, your Wii remote is your virtual gun, allowing you to point-and-cap Nazis with abandon. If you enjoyed previous titles from Call of Duty or love military related first-person shooters, then this is your game.

Metroid Prime 3: Corruption 

If you are a Metroild Prime fan, then this game will shoot to the top of your favourite list. Play as Samus and help her boot up the generator to restore the defense systems in order to stop Space Pirates. 

 

Rock Band 

For those who enjoy party games like Guitar Hero Rock Band is a must-have. Gather your friends together and grab virtual instruments. It's time to rock out. The new air guitaring and a great way to keep guests entertained.

Resident Evil 4: Wii Edition 

Players rejoin Leon S. Kennedy, six years after his first mission as a rookie cop in Resident Evil 2 Help Kennedy, now a U.S. secret agent, investigate the disappearance of the President's daughter.

WarioWare: Smooth Moves 

There is no other game out there (yet) that better utilizes the Wii remote. The game is centered upon trying to master as many "forms" (ways of holding and moving the Wii remote) as possible.
